Foosball is a great game to play whether you know all of the rules or are lucky enough to come upon an empty table for a quick game with your friends. Below, you will find the basic rules of foosball as well as where to find regulation foosball rules for those of us who are more serious about our play.

Important Foosball Rules
The United States Table Soccer Association has, on their website, a complete set of official foosball rules that players who play competitively should learn. For those interested in just recreation foosball play, then the rules below should suffice.

1. A flip of the coin determines which foosball player will serve first.

2. The foosball remains in play until it is declared dead, a time out is called, a point is scored or it is hit off the foosball table.

3. **IMPORTANT** If the foosball goes into and bounces out of the goal, a point is still rewarded.

4. Absolutely no spinning of the foosball table rods. All turning of the rods should occur in short, concise rotations, not haphazard spinning.

5. No rocking of the foosball table may occur. Foosball players may not rock the table to help control the foosball.

The Most Important Rule is that you have fun playing with your foosball table. We recommend that you create your own family rules and follow them along with those stated above to ensure that everyone has a great time with the new foosball table.
